This is taking off from a LZ closer to the Euphrates River, hence all the trees. You can see some of the old bunkers amongst the houses and other buildings in the background.
Great description of July 4th decorations! I would not want my curosity to be the cause of your undoing...so am content with excellent verbals and am willing to forgo visuals....Thanks for making the effort. (: P.S. It seems to me....the mother/child statue...I do not think this child is alive. It is more of a mourning pose...a child's body rather than a living one. Any thoughts on that?
missed the picture about which I wished to comment by one slot....(: Oh well. You have assured me that your general alertness plus computer alertness guarentees that no comment is left unrecognized. This is a test. (: There is another question also misplaced; tucked in with other questions already answered. A "Where's Waldo" search. Sorry!
Well, I found it and I think I already answered the other question you hid but if not let me know :) I agree with your observation on the mother/child statue but I don't think that was the intent. It was put up for Mother's Day and while using a dead child in a war zone might add a lot of punch to the piece I don't think the artists go that deep (at least based on their other products). It is an interesting observation though and isn't that what great art does - allows access to the viewer? :)
