This is a toucan that was made for the July 4th display. Not too sure how it fits in but it was well done.

Do you think these dsiplays are stored? As in saved? For another war somewhere else? There has to be an inventory. And you know how government items are handled, once they have outlived their initial function. Warehoused and not disposed of. Mostly. I don't suppose you would like to do a little research of what happens to really great toucans once the 4th is over?

They keep some of them out for quite awhile - lined up along one of the walls then they disappear. We have been fortunate enough not to be here for multiple occurrences of the same holiday so I don't know if they are reused. It would seem like quite a waste to only use them once -maybe they do rotate around the country like a traveling art show. In this case I imagine they are owned by the contractors and not the government which increases the odds of them being destroyed.
