What does the black belt like gear hold? Hold up? (If we were in the same place, I could say "There! What is that?!" ) But maybe this will be enough for you to answer? And about uniforms? Everyone wears then all the time they are not sleeping? Maybe the Army has sleeping suits? Never thought about that (: Did you bring any civilian clothes?

The black belt on the guy on the right is a sling for his M16 (rifle) and on the other two guys it is a shoulder holster for their M9s (pistol). I am one of the few people who wears a hip holster - almost everyone else wears the shoulder one. As far as uniforms go (I gave more details in the post above) we wear them all the time except in our rooms or on the way to and from the showers (we don't have sleeping suits :) I brought one set of civilian clothes so I could change once I arrived in the states on my way home for leave but I have never worn anything but uniforms over here. Most of the guys have civilian clothes that they wear around their rooms and to the showers. I figure the Army provides me clothes so I might as well wear their stuff out and save my own :)
