Jackson and English on a cold, wet, January day. It felt a little like Alaska - at least Alaska of several months ago.

Who knew you could say that... "a cold, wet, January day..." At least the terrible heat is over. -40 here today... I sometimes wonder exactly why people live here...

I'm sure Wendi told you-- but we have news... we're having a baby! It's totally crazy- a surprise for sure. The shock has worn off and we're very excited. Mid-August will be the time.

Hope all is well with you. Take care.

Tia,

Sorry it took me so long to respond. Wendi did tell me and that is great news! That will be quite a change - a new house and a new baby within a year :) I can only pray that I will be back by the time you have it - not likely but who knows? The snow was a nice surprise but it is all gone now and back up to the 60's. I do miss Alaska but I don't envy your -40. Stay warm and I will see you in a few weeks (just for leave).

PS - This is Andrew...but posting from a friend's google account. Finally read your blog for the first time in a couple of weeks. We have been in a frenzy of packing and finishing up stuff at work...my last day was supposed to be on Jan. 11th, but ended up going in every day for 3-4 hours this past week. We are in Entiat/Chelan for the weekend to see friends and attend the Fire & Ice Festival...have to jump into Lake Chelan - seems an appropiate action before we head to the beaches of Peru. Still have some packing to do on Monday/Tuesday and then fly out on Wed. the 23rd. I really have no idea where we are going, but Jen has read all the books and has worked out a rough draft...I will have to make sure that nothing happens to her - I would be lost in SA. Good news about the upcoming leave! We continue to pray for you. Cuidate (that's take care in Spanish...need to start practicing!!) - Andrew
