This is the PC/QC shop where I spend a good portion of my time these days. Well that is not entirely true - most of the time I am out on one of the aircraft or going from office to office to find all the people I need to launch an aircraft. I have to get the mission briefed then approved, sign out weapons, sign out survival bags, check the weather, check notams, find out what callsign I am assigned for the day, get an enemy situation brief, and that is all before I get to actually fly the aircraft to see if it is fixed. It is a big relief to actually get in the aircraft.

Hi Dave; just figured why I couldn't contact my server - used up my pd for time (20 hrs) - dumb!!! So called, pd %4 more and now have 360 hrs /mo - should do me (~:}
Questions: What is a "notams"? Any chance your maintance problems are sabotage?
Sounds pretty busy there. Have things eased up for the Marines? I understand some Sunni groups are providing help with both info. & bodies.
Wonderful days here - 60's to H80's. Planning a camping trip w/Suzy end of Sept. Got Roundup to do first (~:} Cheers!!DAD
PS your mom does have a way with words doesn't she. I am truly blessed.

hey it's me again. i read the comments to "mom" and thought "hey...nice...this must be betsy...or for betsy..." and then caught up....hmmmmm....this is me. sorry. i do actually know who you (and by association, me) are! (: appreciated your comments on my comments. i can vividly remember a time when what i intended to be reassuring did come across as glib...althought i felt very far from glib. my friend was worried that a docotr had not made the proper insurance arrangments. the doctor had promised a correction. i had said something like "since we have no way at this point to check and see if he has done what he promised, we have to assume that he did. i know God is ultimately in control." her response was "easy for you to say!" it wasn't my body nor my insurance nor my doctor....so i inderstood her distress....(: i have always distiked glib responses to what i thought were reasonable and necessary plans or concerns or corrections that needed to be made just becasue we were human and faliable. so your comments are understood and i agree with you. i have never eaten a burger king hamburger but i am totally there with you too....the right food at the right time is both wonderful and awful....as in....all hot dogs except at a ball game or camping....a wendy's junior bacon cheesburger ($1.19) when i am really hungry and tired. a pendleton by the tracks charburger with a freight train going by and the crows cawing and the breeze blowing and the air just beginning to be cool, sun setting, finally, over the round-up grounds. this has nothing to do with real food (as in any Wendi meal) but a happy combination of need and nostalgia and place. we love you. thanks for info and thoughts.

I'm glad you are back up and running:) Notams like most things in Army lingo (in this case it is actually aviation wide) is an acronym that stands for notice to airmen. They are updates on airport information, closed areas, frequencies, ect. Anything that pilots need to know that is not already published in some other resource. They change on a daily basis. Mom, you are very right (isn't that redundant? either you are right or not :)) it is hard to beat Wendi food :) Now whether that is more good food or good company I don't know and I guess it doesn't really matter - I just know I like it :) Love you guys.
